ToLY’s RYT500 program is for yoga teachers and advanced practitioners who have completed their RYT200 program and are looking to go further into their teaching, education, knowledge and/or practice. This program goes above and beyond the requirements of Yoga Alliance and is deeply inspired by the philosophical and ethical roots of yoga and its transformational potential.
The program is a twelve-month program with ten (10) required modules that total 200 of the 270 required contact hours. The balance of the 70 required contact hours is done through Electives where the student can advance their learning through a more personal track. Electives are offered on a continuous basis with additional workshops added throughout the year.
The Heart of Yoga - January 25, 26, 27, 2019
This module opens the program and seeks to bring students to a common understanding of yoga while deeply examining their own personal practice. We will explore the history of yoga setting the foundation for the varied lineages that will be covered in the program, while providing a deeper understanding of the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita.
Expanding Your Toolbox – February 8, 9, 10; May 3, 4, 5; Aug 2, 3, 4; Oct 25, 26, 27, 2019
These modules make up 100 of the contact hours and break down what’s in your toolbox and addresses the following:

These modules make up 80 of the required contact hours and provide expertise in teaching by focusing on the following:
Your program offers electives to choose from to expand your knowledge with the topics you want the most. Your program fees cover 70 hours of workshops. Electives will be added during the year so this is not an exhaustive list.
Tantra – Mar 1, 2, 3, 2019 – 20 hours
Tantra has always had a broad range of meanings and teachings. It is not possible to think of tantra as a single practice, philosophy, teaching, or path without encountering people who disagree with you. Nonetheless, this word ‘tantra’ does refer to something coherent and meaningful. To help get a handle on what the heart of tantra is all about this workshop takes a meaningful look at its origins, history, and procedures to assist moving forward on the path to self-realization.
The Lustrous Chakras: Lighting Up Your Inner World – Mar 23, 24, 30, 31, 2019 – 32 hours
This master class takes the student on a journey deep into their inner world exploring subtle energies and their physical counterparts. Learn how to balance your energy, clear your energetic pathways and explore the mysteries of this ancient knowledge. In this eight-part unique and inspiring master class, you will study the chakra system as a map for the journey. This course makes the Yogic system of the chakras understandable to the Westerner as comprehensive and down-to-earth. We will explore guided meditations for each chakra, simple exercises, quotes from ancient texts, and practical information for using this map to greater wholeness and awakening.
Ayurveda – Jun 7, 8, 9, 2019 – 20 hours
Ayurveda is the sister-science to yoga and is the original health system. Using an Ayurveda textbook as the foundation for this course, you will learn how to access this system and how to include it, not only in your own personal lifestyle, but also in your teaching.
Yoga Nidra – Sep 13, 14, 15, 2019 – 20 hours
This workshop takes you “behind the scenes” as you learn the science behind Yoga Nidra, how it affects the body, mind, and spirit all while learning to lead and design your own classes.
Accommodating Physical Conditions – Oct 4, 5, 6, 2019 – 20 hours
Teaching students with physical limitations poses risks for teachers and students alike. This course explores how to adjust and modify your teaching and practice by accommodating for physical, mental, and spiritual conditions. Also explore how to adjust your teaching to fit an aging population.
Take a deep dive into the practice of yoga with us! Find your voice and develop the skills you need to be a yoga teacher and watch your life change as you focus your energy on the practice of yoga. Deeply explore this ancient tradition in our serene studio, in a non-intimidating and playful environment. Discover what your body and mind need to be balanced.
We are hosting our yoga teacher training and advanced studies program in the spirit of humility, exploration and personal growth. We have spent countless hours studying and teaching yoga and time well-spent on researching curriculum and teachings that speak to us and are excited to share our version of the gifts of yoga with you.
Most students will participate to learn more about yoga and focus on their own health and well-being. Many will want to teach. ToLY endeavors to break free of any dogmatic approach to teaching yoga, therefore teaching a multi-style approach which will provide a solid foundation.
You do not need to desire to be a teacher to complete this program. You only need a desire to grow to reach new heights as you become more grounded and peaceful through this ancient practice.
All of ToLY’s RYT programs feature experienced, high-quality faculty that are the best-of-the-best specialists in their field to help contextualize the practice of yoga in its anatomical, philosophical and physiological realities, and its many styles.
We require a minimum of six months experience of practicing yoga and a desire to enhance your own Yoga practice and your knowledge of the ancient tradition to apply to the 200TT. You must hold a valid Yoga Alliance 200TT certification to apply for the 500TT.
